As the month of May comes to an end, so does my latest journal—the one that has been with me from January 2025 until now. Before starting a new one, I’ve been trying to make it a habit to pause and revisit the pages I’ve filled. For my previous journal, I created a collage inspired by its contents. This time, I decided to scan some of my favorite shareable pages and layer them over my photography—abstract images of winter and spring elements—representing the seasonal changes that have unfolded alongside this journal.
This process, and this post, are a way for me to remember, to document, and, hopefully, be a small spark of inspiration for fellow journalers, creatives, doctoral students, or researchers who are interested in documenting and appreciating the complex and multilayered processes of (un)learning.
