I created this collage while reflecting on key lessons and inspirations I jotted down in my journal from June 2024 to December 2024. Made with cut-out images, Polaroids, words from my journal, liquid acrylics, and embroidery, this collage is a visual representation of the last six months of my life, as documented in my bullet and junk journal practice.
Since 2021, journaling has grown into a daily ritual that allows me to connect to my intuition and creativity, becoming an organic archive of my life. Weaving together my not-so-separate personal, academic, and professional endeavors, my journal reflects back to me my ever-changing passions, tensions, and spaces for growth.
Creating this collage to commemorate the end of my latest journal cycle was an empowering process. It made space for me to slow down, appreciate the growth of my inner and exterior gardens, collect and preserve that which inspires me most, and do some necessary pruning to make space for the next cycles and seasons to come.
